Choose the structure before comparing a quotation. These are separate material series, not interchangeable grades of one product. The ranges below describe series options; the selected model determines which dimensions and properties can be supplied together.

Carbon-content percentages are not gas-removal efficiencies. Basis weight refers to the complete medium unless stated otherwise; do not derive carbon loading by combining unrelated series limits. No material name or range alone establishes service life or suitability for a particular gas.
For particle pre-filtration, use the separate white synthetic pre-filter media range. Its filter-class requirements do not describe carbon adsorption performance.
What is activated carbon filter media?
Activated carbon filter media is a family of adsorption materials and converted filter components used when a filtration product needs an odor-control or gas-phase adsorption stage. Material options include carbon-containing nonwoven, activated carbon fiber cloth and felt, and carbon foam, with supply formats depending on the selected material.
The product name alone is not enough for selection. Filter manufacturers and OEM buyers should compare the carrier structure, supply form, dimensions, conversion method, installation space, target odor or VOC, airflow and finished-product test requirement.
Start with the question you need to answer
- Which material structure do I need? Compare the product families below.
- Carbon nonwoven or sandwich nonwoven? Check where the carbon sits and what the catalog actually confirms.
- How do I compare two material specifications? Separate construction, carbon content and test conditions.
- Should I order rolls, sheets or cut parts? Match the supply format to your production process.
- How long will the carbon last? Check what is needed for a service-life evaluation.
- Is the project a pet pad or an insole? Review the carbon layer as part of the complete product.
Activated carbon media types and supply formats
Start with the material structure, then choose the supply format. PET polyester fibers carrying powdered activated carbon are different from activated carbon fiber (ACF) cloth and felt; similar names do not mean the materials are interchangeable.

Activated carbon nonwoven or sandwich nonwoven: which should you specify?
The factory catalog lists these as separate products. Activated carbon nonwoven fabric is a carbon-containing nonwoven. Activated carbon sandwich nonwoven has activated carbon between supporting nonwoven layers. “Sandwich” describes the layered construction; it does not tell you whether the carbon between the layers is granular, powdered or another form.
For a replacement, ask for a cross-section photo or sample and identify which structure your existing part uses. Then compare the selected model’s complete basis weight, thickness, width, carbon mass per unit area and conversion needs. A basis-weight figure for the entire composite is not the same as carbon loading, and a catalog series range is not a guaranteed value for a particular roll.
Tell us the intended filter or converted product, dimensions, quantity and any target odor or test requirement. We can check the relevant construction and model with the factory before suggesting a sample. Neither structure can be ranked for adsorption performance from its name alone.
Choosing rolls, sheets or cut parts
Once you have identified the material, decide who will do the cutting. Tell us whether you need stock for your own production or pieces supplied to a finished outline. Include dimensions with units and a quantity for each size.

Carbon-loaded media and activated carbon fiber are not the same
In carbon-loaded media, a supporting material carries the activated carbon. In activated carbon fiber (ACF) media, the adsorption material is in fiber form. For example, our PET-based carbon medium uses polyester fibers carrying powdered activated carbon; it is not ACF felt.
Terms such as carbon filter sheet or carbon filter pad describe a format, not a complete material specification. Ask what the sheet is made of before comparing quotations. A black sheet or a similar product name is not enough to identify a replacement.
Overseas terminology examples: EMW uses carbon-impregnated filter foam; Calgon Carbon describes activated carbon cloth. Their product specifications do not describe Junkang materials.
Application guides for air filters, pet pads and insoles
For an air-filtration project, start with the HVAC odor-control guide or the kitchen-exhaust guide. These cover the role of the carbon stage within a complete system.
For a non-airflow product, use the pet-pad and insole guide. Do not assume that a result from an air-filter test establishes performance in a finished consumer product.

Ready to discuss a sample?
Send the application, material you are considering, dimensions and quantity. An existing specification, photo or drawing is useful, but you do not need to have every value ready to start.

Available factory product forms include activated carbon nonwoven, sandwich nonwoven, activated carbon fiber cloth and felt, activated carbon foam, rolls, sheets, cut parts and custom assembled filter components. The suitable form depends on the product structure and test requirement.
Can Junkang supply both raw filter media and finished carbon filters?

What is the difference between carbon nonwoven, ACF media and carbon foam?
Carbon nonwoven uses a nonwoven carrier or supporting layers. Activated carbon fiber media is supplied as carbon fiber cloth or felt. Carbon foam uses porous polyurethane foam carrying activated carbon. These structures require different conversion and installation discussions.
What information is needed for a quotation or sample?
Start with the application or the material you are looking for. Share any dimensions, quantity, existing specification, photo or drawing you already have; you do not need every value ready to contact us. Can one activated carbon media grade be used for every odor or VOC application?
No universal grade can be selected from the product name alone. The exact media model and finished structure must be evaluated against the target pollutant, airflow, operating environment, dimensions and applicable test method.
